Mother’s Day 2024 at TJPS

Let’s celebrate all the wonderful Mums, Carers, Grandmothers and Mother-figures in our lives!

The P&C have arranged two great Mother’s Day Events for 2024 - a Mother’s Day Stall and a Mother’s Day Breakfast.

Mothers Day Stall

Firstly, Thursday 9 May we will hold a Mother’s Day Stall to give every kid the opportunity to shop for special gifts. Kids will visit the stall on Thursday with their class, and they can buy up to two gifts at this time. On Friday 10 May, kids will have the chance to come back at lunch time if they like, and can choose from the remaining gifts.

Our priority for the stall is to make sure it is accessible to everyone. Gifts will range from $3 - $7 with a variety of gifts available for your child to choose from.

Please keep in mind all gifts are either sourced or hand-made by our volunteers. Thank you to all those who have already put their hand up to help or donate gifts. We are still accepting gifts till Monday 6 May. It takes a village!

If your child wants to buy something from the stall, we are asking you to send them with just a small amount of money (preferably coins). Please don’t give them more money than they need.

Breakfast with Mum

Secondly, on Friday 10 May we would love all our Mums and Carers to join us for Breakfast with Mum. Starting at 8am we will be serving fresh muffins. All parents, grandparents and family are welcome.

We are really excited to announce that our muffins this year are being baked by the amazing, talented students and teachers from Newcastle High School Food Technology course. This is a great opportunity to keep building links with our local high school! The P&C want to thank the staff at TJPS and Newcastle High School for helping make this collaboration possible.

Please pre-order your muffins asap via Flexischools. (We know this is short notice, but the timing of the holidays haven’t helped our planning, we appreciate your support).

A coffee van will be on site for those needing caffeine intake. Our wonderful canteen team will be supplying tea and milo. Please feel free to bring your own hot drink from home as long as it is in a sealed travel cup or similar.

We are looking for some volunteers to help set-up and hand out muffins on the day. Dads - we are looking at you to help with this one!
